Surrey Community College is a post-secondary institution associated with the Surrey School District and is seeking a qualified instructor for the Education Assistant program. This posting is for an evening instructor position (Monday – Friday, 5:00pm – 10:00pm).
Instructors must be available to students during the day when practicums commence to provide support and direction.
This contracted position begins February 1, 2023, and ends June 29, 2023, with the possibility of continuing in September 2023.
As the Instructor of the Education Assistant Program, you will be responsible for teaching the following courses – curriculum of which will be provided by the college:
EA 1010 Foundations of Child Development
EA 1035 Diversity, Equity, Inclusive Education
EA 1036 Foundations of Autism: Educational Considerations
EA 1037 Principles of ABA, Data Collection & Data Based Decision Making
EA 1045 Health & Personal Care
EA 1070 Practicum Supervision I
EA 2010 Assessing the Curriculum for Diverse Learners
EA 2045 Ethics & Professional Practice
EA 2050 Functional Behaviour Assessment & Positive Behaviour Supports
EA 2055 Mental Health & Trauma Awareness
EA 2070 Practicum Supervision II
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the other instructors in all aspects of the program planning and instruction.
