As the Industrialisation Manager, you will lead, manage, organise and structure the industrialisation department in order to define and implement the machining processes for new programs & re-engineering projects.


1. General


The Industrialisation Manager is responsible with his team to

  • · Define new production processes for the manufacturing of aerospace parts that meet the cost, quality and delivery targets
  • · Improve the current production processes to improve on recurring quality issues and to reduce the manufacturing cost 

The deliverables of the industrialization department are

  • · NC- programs
  • · Machining and assembly fixtures
  • · Operator work instructions
  • · Production tooling such as cutting tools, measurement tools, etc.


All activities within the industrialization department are done on project basis. Together with the operational project leader he follows up on the good execution of all activities within his team.

The Industrialisation Manager will work in close collaboration with the other departments within the company site (i.e. production and quality).


2. Team Management 

Hire, Train, motivate, evaluate and plan resources to provide Engineers within the project teams and for continuous support to the production organisation.

  • · Shared responsibility in the tasks follow-up of the team members (together with the project leader)
  • · Quality follow-up of the delivered services.
  • · Validation of key technical decisions on the production processes
  • · Personnel policy : evaluation, training and hiring of team members
  • · Provides a safe en environmental friendly working place for his team
    • · Planning of the department activities with the usual tools (Excel, MS-project, Tenforce)
    • · Coach, assist in case of technical problems, and develop their staff
    • · Responsible for the budgeting of its department and for determination of required budget by project
    • · Ensure that the necessary hardware and software are available through IT departments


3. Technical Improvements

Develop, improve and secure machining techniques

  • · Promotes the introduction of new technologies
    • · Works together with T&I (and R&D teams) in review & implementation of new technologies
    • · Proposes and organizes the elaboration of new machining strategies and process improvements · Standardizes machining process and tools
    • · Supports introduction of new machines for machining shop


4. Continuous improvement of efficiency

Monitor the efficiency of the department and apply improvements to streamline the machining processes.

  • · Active increase of the profitability and the quality of the department
  • · Proposes and develops improvements in process defining method
  • · Implements the necessary organizational modifications
  • · Standardizes tools and way of working
  • · Creates and maintains KPIs for the department
    • · Works to continuously improve way of working of method to introduce new or modified process together with other departments & ID sections (e.g. concurrent engineering, FTR...)
    • · Ensures a smooth functioning and interaction with other departments as the respect of customer specifications and targets by developing and maintaining procedures and quality instructions
    • · Ensures technology watch by organizing participation to seminars, visit of factories, exhibitions


5. Represents the department

Represent the department at the customer, internal contacts and subcontractor in order to support different industrialisation topics.


6. Corporate Support Gives support to other departments/plants in order to share best practices across the company

 · Estimates feasibility and costs for future projects

  • · Provides and organizes technical support to subcontracting
  • · Helps procurement by organizing technical input
  • · Provides estimations and validates quotations of the Bidding cell
  • · Delivers technical support on demand to various departments


Performance-indicators (can be measured or judged)

  • · OTD of deliverables within projects
  • · Budget/cost (NRC & RC)
  • · Delivered quality
  • · Motivation of personnel

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:  

Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, P.Eng preferred

Languages: English (French is an added value)


  • · >10 years experience in the manufacturing and/or assembly of metallic components
  • · Experience in the management of engineering teams
  • · Takes initiatives – autonomous
