EAGLEPICHER, a leading producer of medical device batteries, located in Surrey, BC, is in need of a  Industrial Maintenance Technician to join their Medical Operations Team!    

EaglePicher Technologies has been a leader in designing and manufacturing of batteries, battery management systems and energetic devices for the defense, aerospace, medical and commercial industries for nearly a century. EaglePicher’s Surrey, BC location, which specializes in the manufacture of specialty batteries used in implantable medical devices, has an opportunity for a Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team.

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain, diagnose/troubleshoot and repair a variety of electro-mechanical equipment in a production environment.

This position is based on a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, afternoon/evening shift.  Weekend shifts may be required.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, diagnose/troubleshoot and repair a variety of electro-mechanical equipment in a production environment.
  • Perform equipment setup.
  • Verify and calibrate various instruments - scales, calipers, micrometers, gauges etc.
  • Interact with suppliers and vendors to source spare parts.
  • Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
  • Maintain, diagnose and repair PLCs, HMIs and auxiliary controls - switches, sensors, pneumatic solenoids etc.
  • Fabricate parts as required.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Any other tasks and duties as required.

To succeed in this position, you must:


  • Strong mechanical aptitude. You’ve fixed and built things before. You can figure out how things work on your own.
  • Knowledge of electrical design - ability to review and understand electrical diagrams.
  • Can-do attitude – you always find a way to get things done.
  • Effective communicator – you can clearly get your message across verbally and in writing.
  • You can carry up to 75 pounds periodically and is comfortable climbing ladders and work from heights on a platform.

 In addition to meeting the basic requirements, the most successful candidate will also have:

  • A suitable engineering Diploma or Degree.
  • 2-3 years Manufacturing experience in a highly regulated industry;
  • Prior experience working in a clean environment;
  • Computer Skills;
  • Welding skills
