• Developing weekly schedules for operations (a large portion of the role) • Addressing and resolving employee questions and enquiries • Assisting in providing an effective and consistent process to assist managers and supervisors in dealing with performance and attendance issues • Supporting the organization’s safety initiatives to assist Catalyst in meeting its safety goals • Supporting a standard for interpreting and applying relevant collective agreements and HR policies as required • Supporting managers and employees through the annual performance management program cycle as required • Remaining current with HR practices, management philosophies, techniques and tools • Leading and supporting change throughout the operation • Partnering with corporate HR functions and internal resources as required to execute company-wide HR initiatives and division specific programs • Some travel to other company locations, to assist and gain knowledge, may be required
The successful candidate will have a combination of qualifications that will include:
• A post-secondary education with 2 - 4 years of Scheduling experience preferred; previous labour relations experience in an industrial setting is a strong asset. • Self-starter who takes initiative in problem solving and troubleshooting. • Strong computer skills • Analytical mind with strong business acumen. • Superior communication and multi-tasking abilities. • Ability to foster positive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
