Role Overview

Reporting to the Manager, People Systems & Global Data Owner, the HR Project and Testing Specialist plays a dual role in supporting the successful delivery of projects while ensuring that all testing activities are well‑planned, executed, and governed.

In this dynamic role, you will assist in delivering projects successfully and carefully plan and carry out testing activities. You will ensure all solutions meet our high quality and business standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Support overall project planning, execution, and monitoring in alignment with scope, timelines, and resource plans.
  • Maintain project schedules, risk/issue logs, action trackers, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate tasks across business, technical teams, and external partners to ensure project activities remain on track.
  • Facilitate meetings, document decisions, track follow-ups, and communicate updates to collaborators.
  • Identify, bring up, and help resolve project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Support governance activities such as preparation of steering committee updates, achievement reviews, and status materials.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for end-users.
  • Maintain documentation including project plans, meeting notes, and status reports.
  • Support project process compliance for Corporate Applications SOX and related audits.
  • Assist the Testing Lead with comprehensive test planning and carrying out testing activities.
  • Develop and maintain the overall testing strategy and detailed test plan across all test phases (SIT, UAT, regression, integration, cutover validation).
  • Coordinate testing activities across functional teams, business users, vendors, and technical specialists.
  • Facilitate the creation, review, and execution of test cases, scripts, and scenarios to validate requirements.
  • Monitor, track, and report on testing progress, defect trends, completion metrics, and readiness indicators.
  • Identify, document, triage, and track defects/issues through to resolution, ensuring timely collaboration between required teams.
  • Ensure testing entry/exit criteria, signoffs, and quality gates are met before advancing through test cycles or moving toward deployment.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in leading projects and testing within technology, HRIS, IT transformation, or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of testing processes, methodologies, and quality assurance practices.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams.
  • Diligent with strong organizational, tracking, and follow-through capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, SuccessFactors, Workday, SailPoint, ServiceNow) is an asset.
  • Formal project or testing certifications (PMP, CAPM, ISTQB, Agile) are considered an advantage.
  • Proficient Spanish, both written and spoken, is considered an asset.

Pay Range: CAD $93,000 - $115,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
