HR Generalist (CONTRACT 18-22 Months)
Our client is a large, food manufacturing company with operations across North America. They provide high-quality food products to North American food services and retail customers through their state-of-the-art processing facilities in Canada and the US. Currently, we are sourcing an experienced and capable HR Generalist! Reporting to the HR Manager, you would be responsible for recruitment, payroll, benefits, planning, and administration. ABOUT US

•Provide leadership, direction, and partnership to the management team. Establish and maintain partnerships with all staff through effective counsel on HR and other operational matters.
•Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
•Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions). Assist in identifying, documenting, and communicating employee performance issues. Review performance reviews and action plans and provide feedback to leaders prior to communicating with employees
•Ensure agency recruitment and onboarding is as per contract. Conduct recruitment efforts for direct-hire non-exempt employees. Meet with hiring managers to review job descriptions and confirm the skills required for job openings. Review the qualifications of potential candidates responding to job postings and facilitate the selection process. Make salary recommendations and oversee on-boarding process.
•Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Administers various human resource programs and procedures; maintains documentation.
•Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
•Investigates employee relations issues and makes recommendations for appropriate action.
•Be a contact person for claims management
•Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits and safety laws and regulations.
•Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met. Qualifications & Abilities
•CPHR or HR Diploma (Working towards CPHR would be an asset)
•3-5 years + in a HR role (generalist or equiv)
•Labor Relations/Union experience (Must Have)
•Manufacturing environment exposure (Must Have)
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - oral and written
•Strong organizational and time management skills
•High productivity and accuracy
•Ability to work both independently and as a team member
