Job Description

In alignment with our Maxar Enterprise Initiative to &ldquo Create Scalable Enterprise Support Services&rdquo we will be deploying Workday as the core HR platform providing HR services to all of our four business units. MDA Canada as one of the four operating business units of Maxar Technologies are included in this project initiative to update our HR operating model to support our company&rsquo s future business growth. Once implemented, our employees and managers will be able to initiate common HR transactions in an intuitive self-service environment which will improve the employee experience and result in a broadened HR service delivery.

We have already begun this journey and we are adding expertise as needed to complement our dynamic team. The HR Administrator will support the Workday implementation by contributing to the testing of various modules and training throughout the implementation and post-implementation process. The key responsibility of this role is to provide administrative support for the day-to-day functionality of our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and HR function.

Responsibilities:

HR Administration
  • Accurately completes transactions and workflows in the Company&rsquo s HRIS
  • Prepares standard letters related to a variety of HR transactions
  • Maintains employee records and personnel files and archives and recalls documents as needed
  • Acts as timesheet system employee interface and support
  • Prepares vacation change notification letters and adjustments as required
  • Maintains employment status logs and distributes to required stakeholders as required
  • Supports other core HR systems as required to ensure employee data corrections across platforms, performs mass updates, and supports ongoing data integrity
  • Supports business process integrity and makes recommendations for process enhancements and improvements
  • Assists with additional ad hoc duties as necessary

HRIS Implementation
  • Supports Workday implementation (as part of the Project Team)
  • Contributes to system testing and training throughout the implementation and post-implementation process and represents HR requirements by partnering with stakeholders throughout the project

Provides support for data integrity issues acting as a subject matter expert regarding data entry within Workday and other core HR systems

Requirements (work/education):
  • 3-5 years&rsquo of experience in an HR support/administration role (preference for experience with Workday, Kronos, or similar HRIS)
  • Post-secondary education in human resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of precision of data
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the organization
  • Proficiency in MS Excel including PivotTables, IF, and VLOOKUP functions (testing will be administered)
  • Solid writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Able to work with highly confidential material
