Position description:

Give back to the community at Christmas time! We have been selling quality Christmas trees to raise funds for foster kids in need since 1995. We depend on hundreds of volunteers to help us reach our goal of preventing foster kids from becoming homeless each year, and WE NEED YOUR HELP! Volunteer jobs are in customer service/sales, cashier, lot maintenance, set-up and clean-up. We have 5 Tree Lot locations: In Vancouver at St. Stephen's United Church at 54th Ave & Granville Street, & in Burnaby at All Saints Anglican Church at 7405 Royal Oak in Coquitlam at Eagle Ridge United Church 2813 Glen Drive, in the River DIstrict Vancouver, and in North Vancouver at Lonsdale Quay123 Carrie Cates Court.Each volunteer shift is four-hour or four and a half depending on the lot. Volunteers work one or more shifts. All proceeds support youth in Aunt Leah's Programs. https://auntleahs.org/

Deliverables/Duties:

Sales/customer service/Friendly and fun

Qualifications:

A welcoming attitude and willingness to pitch in. The work is outside (heater, hot drinks and snacks are provided). Lifting is not necessary for all volunteer positions but it is a great benifit if you are able to help move and carry Christmas trees.

Additional Information:

Orientation and training at the beginning of your four-hour shift. A manager is on-site for additional support. With this one-time committment, volunteers get to do something meaningful at Christmas time and support training programs for vulnerable youth in the community. Plus, all are invited to a volunteer celebration dinner on January 17, 2017. Coffee / Tea
