We have a rich history of consistently driving innovation, harnessing cutting-edge technology, and cultivating a dynamic environment that empowers our employees to shape the future.
This role is based at Highland Valley Copper, located near Logan Lake, BC - perfectly positioned between the vibrant city of Kamloops and the welcoming small-town communities of Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake itself.

To make your move easier, Teck offers up to $10,000 in relocation assistance. You'll also enjoy an attractive 4x4 days and nights shift schedule, giving you more time to enjoy everything the region has to offer - from outdoor adventure to quality time with family - and to truly achieve a work/life balance.

At Teck, safety is a core value, not just a priority. Through our Courageous Safety Leadership (CSL) program, every employee is empowered to be a safety leader - encouraging a culture where speaking up, driving positive change, and protecting one another are expected.

Role & Responsibilities:

As a Heavy-Duty Mechanic at Teck, your day-to-day will consist of duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics such as;

  • Disassembling and reassembling components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, etc.
  • Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing mobile off-road mining equipment including haul trucks, graders, bulldozers, excavators, shovels, loaders, and other heavy equipment
  • Maintaining and repairing a fleet of advanced mining equipment, including:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience - plus a desire to keep learning and growing.
  • A valid driver's license and the drive to be part of an essential operation.
  • Great interpersonal skills that help you thrive both independently and as part of a tight-knit, safety-first team.
  • You take pride in diagnosing, repairing, and getting equipment back up and running efficiently.
  • Worked in mining before? Great - but if not, your mechanical expertise and willingness to learn are what matter most.

At Teck, your skills won't just be put to use - they'll be developed, recognized, and rewarded.
