Position Overview:Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world's largest Caterpillar dealer. We are looking for a dedicated Gas Compression Technician/Mechanic who will be responsible for the variety of gas compression tasks in a service oriented environment based out of our Finning Fort Nelson branch.

This position is based on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation. If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification, then you are exactly who we are looking for!

Job Description:
  • Responsible for the maintenance and overhaul work in the natural gas compression and EPG industry in the field.
  • Perform routine repairs, maintenance and overhauls on natural gas and diesel engines, compressors, generators, and attachments
  • Field and shop service work
  • Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting
  • Create positive customer relations

  • Valid Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification
  • Completion, or in the process of completing, Finning S-level courses
  • Team player with good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and contribute positively to a quality team environment
  • Previous CAT gas compression experience and proficiency in the MS Office package would be assets
  • Safety tickets in H2S, first aid, WHMIS, TDG, confined space and fall arrest would also be considered assets

  • Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
  • Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
  • Previous repair and troubleshooting experience with Caterpillar general line products would be considered an asset
  • Engine and other component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
  • Transmission or hydraulic testing would be considered as asset

  • This position is located at our Finning Fort Nelson branch based on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation
  • Shift work may be required
  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
