Magnum is currently seeking experienced and licensed Heavy Duty / Commercial Transport Mechanics to join our growing team!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have an urgent need to add additional Technicians to our team in order to provide the essential services needed for our customers who keep the transportation of goods and services moving.

Magnum has taken all precautionary measures possible to protect the health and well-being of each of our employees while they are onsite in our facilities.  This includes daily health screening of our staff, increased sanitization and cleaning measures, space to ensure proper social distancing measures are achieved, and limitation of onsite visitors and guests.

  • Perform routine maintenance
  • Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Engine and transmission repairs
  • Perform incidental welding operations and other mechanical repair work as required
  • Perform inspections and test mechanical units
  • Diagnose faults and malfunctions * Adjust, repair and/or replace parts and components of transport truck systems
  • Complete reports to record problems and document work performed
  • Provide training and advice to apprentices and co-workers as required
  • Ability to use power and hand tools related to motor vehicle service and repair
  • Maintain a safe work environment within the department and on each job
  • Identify areas for improvement, ways to better expedite and gain efficiencies
  • Consistently punctual and available for a minimum of 40 hours of work per week


  • Truck-Trailer Repairer Trade Certification or Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification or equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience (inclusive of apprenticeship)
  • Class 1 or 3 driver’s license preferred
  • BC Commercial Vehicle Inspector certification an asset


  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions via written, verbal, or diagram form
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Professional demeanor and superior customer service skills
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations


  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit
  • Ability to use hands to operate equipment, handle and/or feel;
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 – 50 lbs
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move > 50lbs with assistance
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach above and below waist



  • Ability to fluently read, write and speak in the English language


  • Positions available for night shift and weekend shift
