The Role
The Nurse 4 role performs vital work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, providing direct, comprehensive nursing care to clients at The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre. This position impacts the lives of youth, families, and communities by offering on-site, community, outreach, and ancillary mental health services. About this Position:
This position has full time on-site requirements.
We currently have eight (8) positions available. Four (4) full time permanent positions and four (4) If and As When needed Auxiliary opportunities for one (1) year.
An eligibility list may be established for future full-time and part-time permanent and/or temporary vacancies.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Registered with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) with a designation of RPN or RN.
- Minimum one (1) year experience working with adolescents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Preference may be given to one or both of the following:
- Recent (within the past 3 years) work experience in the field of adolescent psychiatry.
Provisos:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with no restrictions and meets the transportation requirements of the Ministry.
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C & AED.
- As a condition of employment, must successfully complete Level 1 OFA.
- Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service; which includes a Criminal Record Check and a Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check.
Willingness Statements:
- Shift work is a requirement as this is a 24-hour facility. Must be able to work days/ evenings/ midnights/ weekends.
- Will be required to work around youth who are distressed and facing challenges which may occasionally involve exposure to unpleasant situations or behaviour with angry, abusive, or abused clients; exposure to hazards from frequently working around youth in crisis who may display volatile behaviour.
- Travel, as necessary, is a requirement.
- Provide First Aid coverage and medical support for staff, as required under WorkSafe BC guidelines.
