Geriatric Nurse Clinician ~ Acute Bed Access (CGH)

We currently have an opportunity for a Geriatric Nurse Clinician in our Acute Care for the Elders Department located at Chilliwack General Hospital in Chilliwack, British Columbia.

This position offers you the opportunity to:

• Provide consultation and clinical expertise to acutely ill older adults

• Perform gerontological nursing assessments and ongoing evaluation of older adults with complex care needs

• Provide information and education to staff, patients and families

• Participate in research, policy, quality improvement, and risk management activities

To be the successful candidate, you will have:

• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

• Recent 3 years' related clinical experience in acute gerontological nursing including 1 year of education and/or leadership experience

• Completion of post graduate course work and/or certification applicable to gerontological nursing (Canadian Nurses Association Gerontology Nursing Certificate)

• Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle
