We have a progressive medium sized law firm client in Richmond, recruiting for an General Accounting Clerk to join their team.  Reporting to the Office Administrator, this role comprises all accounting and billing functions for the Firm.


  • All billing functions, including generating client listings and draft statements, creating initial draft bills, and posting finalized bills;
  • Posting firm receipts, trust receipts and VISA/Mastercard receipts;
  • Preparing and submitting electronic general and trust deposits;
  • Generating general and trust cheques;
  • Processing trust transfers and reversals;
  • Daily posting of LTSA, BC Online and Econveyance transactions;
  • Posting client related disbursements;
  • Posting LTSA, BC Online and Econveyance transactions;
  • Purchasing and redeeming client trust related GICs;
  • File closing and write-offs;
  • Daily posting of LTSA, BC Online and Econveyance transactions;
  • Troubleshooting accounting related issues resulting from support staff and lawyer errors;
  • Perform back-up tasks related to file opening, conflict searching, and entering client identification.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 3 years of related work experience, ideally in a professional services firm and in a position that includes dealing with client trust funds;
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures;
  • Experience with ESILaw;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and manage time effectively;
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with strong communication skills;
  • Experience and ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
  • Able to work under pressure to meet monthly deadlines;
  • Strong technical skills.
