GCP Audit Consultant

Location: Vancouver, BC (Remote)

Rate: ~$120 per hour

Contract Length: 12 to 18 Months

Overview

This is a long‑term contract opportunity for an experienced IT Auditor with hands‑on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise. You’ll lead cloud audit activities, assess security and compliance controls, and support remediation efforts across a complex enterprise environment. Ideal for a consultant with strong cloud audit experience and a background in Big 4 or large advisory firms.

What You’ll Do

Conduct GCP audits evaluating security, compliance, configurations, access controls, and logging across cloud environments.
Assess cloud controls against industry frameworks such as NIST, SOC 2, and cloud security best practices.
Document findings, identify gaps, and collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance teams on remediation plans.
Review cloud architecture and risk posture to ensure alignment with enterprise policies and regulatory requirements.
Support process improvements by recommending enhancements to cloud governance, monitoring, and control effectiveness.

Qualifications

3+ years of cloud or IT audit experience with direct, hands‑on exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience in Big 4 or large consulting strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of NIST, SOC 2, cloud security frameworks, and enterprise control environments.
Ability to work independently, manage audit cycles, and communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Excellent documentation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
