Position description:

Volunteers work under the direction of the Horticulture Therapist to help senior residents participate increative, indoor and outdoor gardening projects.

Deliverables/Duties:

  • going to local businesses to pick up flowers
  • sorting and pruning flowers
  • assisting seniors to create floral arrangements
  • assisting seniors who have disabling conditions and compromised communication skillsto participate in gardening projects.


Qualifications:

Interestedin working with seniors and gardening.

Ability to follow directions.

Understands and speaks English.

Passionate about helping others.

Ability to understandand follow policies and procedures.

Volunteer skills:

Invasive Species Management, Greening, Gardening Projects

Patient Services, Personal Care

Group Leader, Host, Facilitator
