Full Stack Developer (Junior or Intermediate) - Production Support Team

Gravit-e Technologies is a custom software development company based in Vancouver. We specialize in web application development, and are currently working on projects in areas including SaaS, manufacturing, healthcare and business process automation.

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer who is capable of handling the development and maintenance of various custom software and SaaS applications in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will be working as part of our Production Support team, primarily working on maintenance-related development tasks on various client and internal applications. Examples include developing new features, creating new reports, investigating errors and making other changes to existing applications. This position is well suited for an individual with a strong desire to learn and expand their programming skills by working on a broad range of tasks and projects for clients in a number of different industries.

This is a full-time remote position. Candidates must reside in British Columbia due to legal and logistical requirements.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

- Work with other members of our team to develop and maintain a variety of web applications, primarily using PHP and C#
- Assisting core development team in investigating and troubleshooting errors which occur in production applications
- Documentation relating to above-mentioned development activities
- Staying on top of the latest trends in application development, including emerging standards, frameworks and best practices.


Education & Experience

- If applying for an intermediate role: 2+ years of relevant development experience.
- If applying for a junior role: 6 months professional web development experience, or equivalent experience working on personal or open source project contributions, with a focus on database-driven applications.
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.


Required Skills & Qualifications

- Demonstrated proficiency working with PHP and MySQL
- Familiarity with modern PHP development practices using Laravel or Symfony.
- Solid understanding of and experience in applying object-oriented programming principles
- Ability to write clean, standards compliant HTML and CSS.
- Experience with JavaScript programming
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (eg. AWS)
- Experience with .NET Core development
- Experience working with REST APIs and JSON data
- Experience working with Mac OS X and Linux, including the command line
- Familiarity with React, Angular, Vue, or other front end frameworks.
