Job Description & Summary

A career in our Sustainability practice, within Risk Assurance Compliance and Analytics services, will provide you with the opportunity to assist clients in developing analytics and technology solutions that help them detect, monitor, and predict risk. Using advanced technology, we're able to focus on establishing the right controls, processes and structures for our clients to ensure that decisions are based on accurate information and assure that information provided to third parties is accurate, complete, and can be trusted.

Our team helps organisations plan, source, deliver, finance and measure the wider impact of products and services. We're helping to future proof businesses by making them more resilient and sustainable. You'll focus on identifying and prioritising sustainability issues, setting goals that support alignment and integration of the sustainability vision into overall corporate strategy, and implementing processes, controls, systems, and dashboards to measure progress for consistent and accurate reporting.

What you'll create and do 

As an Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Managing the Recipients of FFT, FCI, FESBC and BCCFA programs
  • Evaluating proposals from funding Recipients to ensure consistency with the objectives of the funding program
  • Overseeing payment advances, adjustments and final payments of work completed
  • Evaluating, monitoring and auditing projects in the field
  • Liaising with forest companies, consultants, Government, First Nations and communities
  • Researching issues and present alternatives and conclusions to the Client
  • Continuously communicating with the Manager and/ or Partner with respect to engagement progress - risks, issues, variances from plan in terms of time, budget, etc.
  • Taking full ownership of electronic audit file and external file completion
  • Analyzing engagement economics of self and field staff and explaining variances from plan
  • Developing strong relationships with our funding Recipients to facilitate the completion of the project work
  • Identifying potential opportunities to provide additional services to our clients (BC Government, FESBC and BCCFA) and Recipients


  • What you'll bring to this role


  • An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
  • Hands on experience with forest harvesting operations, planning, operational silviculture, fuel management, or forest inventory in British Columbia
  • Proven ability to manage projects, specifically contract management, procurement, quality assurance
  • Exposure working with Government funding programs
  • Post secondary education with a focus on Forestry, Engineering or Natural Resources
  • Professional Forestry (RPF or RFT) designation (or eligible for registration)
  • Strong working knowledge of BC forest policy and legislation
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent client service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Confident in establishing priorities, and monitoring project delivery and resolving problems
  • Aptitude for project management
  • Ability to carry out multiple tasks in a dynamic and constantly changing environment
  • Exposure to data analytics and visualization tools
  • Well-developed leadership, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
  • Expected to travel within British Columbia (approx. 15%)
