The Real Property Division (RPD) provides everything needed to design, set up and manage a government workplace. We are also responsible for the Province's real estate portfolio (excluding schools, post-secondary and hospitals), office space inventory, furniture procurement, project and construction management, and real estate services for special-purpose facilities (such as courthouses, laboratories and correctional facilities). We serve the needs of over 26,000 public servants in the British Columbia Public Service and many more in the broader public sector.
We have a capital budget of about $200M annually which is used to construct major capital projects, improve building conditions, implement energy projects and accommodate clients in spaces.
As the Senior Financial Analyst, you provide expert financial, reporting, budget, accounting and advisory services on government's capital and the real estate portfolio managed by the Real Property Division. You are able to apply your experience and expertise to resolve complex financial issues and provide recommendations for changes that will improve the overall operations.
You utilize your excellent leadership skills and experience to assist and develop your team while prioritizing competing demands to meet deadlines. You are someone who thrives within a team of dedicated and motivated staff and have excellent inter-personal communication, relationship building and leadership skills.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Public or Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience developing and preparing financial reports for public, executive and inter-ministry/agency committee review processes.
- Experience with budget development, forecasting, financial analysis, budget monitoring, and preparation of reports for executive staff.
- Experience in interpreting policies or legislation and provide advice to support budget development, forecasting, accounting treatments and various other financial matters.
- Extensive experience analyzing financial data for variances and trends and recommending remedial action.
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

- Two (2) or more years of related experience in each of the experiences listed above.
- Professional accounting designation CPA CA, CPA CGA, CPA CMA with combination of training and experience.
- Experience working with capital budgets and transactions.
- Supervisory experience.
