Corporate Management Services Branch strives to provide excellence in corporate services and partner in both the Ministry of Attorney General's and the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General's outcomes. Our mission as a central, consolidated support services team is to support all the program areas and branches. Corporate Management Services Branch provides central corporate services to all staff and branches/programs within both ministries.

We lead the preparation of budget submissions and financial reporting, and provide oversight, progress reporting, and provide expert advice to all branches within the justice and public safety sector. Corporate Management Services Branch performs day to day functions to its clients on finances, strategic human resources, facilities, including Shared Services, and corporate risk and security. Our branch is also the lead strategic link between its partners and government's central agencies.

The Senior Financial Analyst provides financial management and reporting advice and expertise to program clients, applying a broad range of accounting knowledge and a thorough understanding of the clients' programs, services and related business plans and priorities. The Senior Financial Analyst must function with tact and discretion to effectively communicate sensitive and often confidential information that may have a significant impact on clients' program budgets and service delivery. This portfolio includes complex and or high-profile programs, which are federally and provincially funded.

Job Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Commerce, Business or Public Administration; AND
  • A combination of *3 years of related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


*Related experience is defined as a combination of the following:
  • Experience in budget development and estimates preparation, financial planning and analysis, budget monitoring, forecasting and preparation of financial reports for executive staff.
  • Experience interpreting legislation and conducting analytical research to support budget development and evaluation.
  • Experience developing collaborative relationships with executive leadership which includes writing and presenting materials, reporting, and providing advice.
  • Experience analyzing financial data for variances and trends and recommending remedial action.


Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience supervising staff, including providing performance feedback and supporting employee development.
  • A Professional accounting designation.
