This is a temporary appointment until April 28, 2023. This temporary appointment may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and/ortemporary opportunities.

The Mineral, Oil and Gas Revenue Branch is responsible for the effective financial management and administration of the Mineral Tax Act, the Mineral Land Tax Act, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Royalty and Freehold Production Tax Regulation, the Oil and Gas Commission Levy, and the Mine Inspection Fee. These revenues are specific to mining and petroleum industries. They are intended to capture a return to the Province from commercial production and depletion of subsurface resources on Crown and freehold land and to recover costs related to regulation of these industries.
The Branch's mandate is to calculate, verify, collect and report the Crown royalties and freehold production taxes payable by the mining and petroleum industries. The branch provides current and historical information on these revenues and responds to general enquiries related to them.
The purpose of the Financial Analyst position is to provide financial reporting and analysis services to multiple programs, projects and business lines.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Diploma or higher in accounting, financial management, commerce, business administration or a related field; OR,
- Completion of Level 1 or above of the Financial Management Certificate Program provided by the Office of the Comptroller General.
Applicants selected to move forward in the hiring process may be assessed on the Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies as outlined in the attached Job Profile located in the Additional Information section at the bottom of the posting.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in accounting and/or financial reporting.
- Experience with revenue administration including supporting analysis.
- Experience with financial and accounting analysis and preparation offinancial reports.
- Experience analyzing financial and accounting reports/statements, and providing findings and/or recommendations.
- Preference may be given to applicants with additional years of experience.
