The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Finance is separated into six work groups (Finance Corporate, Corporate Audit, Finance Wholesale, Finance Retail, Shared Services, and Regulatory & Compliance) and provides financial services to all LDB divisions. The Finance division provides financial reporting, advisory services, budgeting, capital asset reporting, and financial transactional processing (banking, accounting payable, accounts receivable). Finance is responsible for the LDB's enterprise risk management program and oversees regulatory compliance for BC liquor manufacturers/warehouses.

The Compliance Auditor conducts compliance audits and inventory counts within established program parameters and procedures. The auditor also performs research, analysis, and reconciliation activities in support of the unit's compliance objectives. The auditor works as part of a team and interacts with a wide network of internal and external stakeholders.

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:
  • Degree or diploma in commerce, business administration, finance or similar discipline with a specialization in accounting.
  • A minimum of one year of recent experience (within the last five years) in conducting financial analysis and/or audits.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
  • Experience working with and analyzing large volumes of financial data.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • Currently enrolled in the CPA designation program.
  • Related experience in conducting financial audits in a regulatory compliance role.
  • Experience in beverage alcohol industry/supply chain or wholesale/retail operations.
