We are recruiting for our mid-sized law firm client, a Float Legal Administrative Assistant. The position requires a 1-3 years of experience as an LAA. The successful candidate will work closely with a professional team of lawyers and paralegals and will be responsible for a wide array of legal administrative tasks.


 Manage all aspects of files including but not limited to:

  • Providing clear, concise and complete oral and written information
  • Drafting correspondence and legal documents;
  • Maintaining all administrative functions, including file opening/closing procedures, maintaining the calendar, booking appointments and managing bring forwards
  • Performing complex editing and formatting of documents for various correspondence, reports, forms and spreadsheets
  • Assist lawyers in performing all regular administrative tasks
  • Perform complex editing and formatting for various correspondence, reports, forms and spreadsheets
  • Managing  a high volume of paper correspondence
  • Use transcription software/equipment to transcribe digital media
  • Performing other related duties as required.


  • Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited program
  • 1-3 years of experience working as a legal administrative assistant
  • Superior organizational/document management skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional aptitude for software and systems
  • A thorough understanding of litigation law legal procedures. Experience in other areas of law will be a great asset
  • Advanced knowledge of database management
  • Computer knowledge including: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Internet, Case Management Software and Time tracker software


  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Solid decision making abilities
  • Ability to plan and manage assignments, resolve complex and time-sensitive issues, manage changing priorities and deadlines
  • The ability to work both collaboratively and support colleagues and work independently
  • A strong work ethic and initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Sound business judgment including the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • High degree of accuracy in work product
