Build on your accounting background in this housing subsidy and budgets support role

As an integral member of Regional Operations, you will provide financial and program support for the review and administration of Non-Profit Housing Program subsidy and budgets. Applying analysis, research, investigation and problem solving, you will facilitate the annual budget process for non-profit societies that provide social housing in addition to calculating the rent subsidy payable to them and monitoring their financial performance. You will provide information to the Non-Profit Portfolio Manager that will support his or her role as a key relationship manager to a portfolio of housing providers, including information on budgets, subsidies, financial statements and financial performance. Your other functions will include participating in program support activities and acting as a primary resource on issues related to housing and housing-related services delivery.

You have completed formal accounting courses, supported by your knowledge of accounting practices (including a good understanding of financial statements) as well as the mortgage lending process, budget process and, preferably, BC Housing programs. Tactful, courteous and exercising good judgement, you are able to interpret operating agreements to calculate subsidies and explain detailed financial information to non-profit societies and other groups.
