Fabricator - Service Technician

The Client

Our client, RF Bakery Equipment (www.rfbakery.com), is well respected and long established in the food equipment sales and service business.  On their behalf, we are seeking an experienced Fabricator/Service Technician to add to their services team. 

The Role

The Fabricator/Service Technician will be a client facing role and as such will require the successful candidate to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in addition to the technical skills required.  The role will largely be responsible to provide general mechanical and electrical service repair on bakery equipment and general metal work skills including welding, blueprinted fabrication and repair.

Key Requirements

• Experience in electrical malfunction problem solving.
• Experience in metal fabrication including welding, milling machine, lathe work and sheet metal work.
• Good set of hand tools 
• Valid British Columbia drivers license
• Ability to travel when required

Job Responsibilities

• Five Years’ Experience
• General mechanical and electrical service repair on bakery equipment.
• General metal work skills including welding, blueprinted fabrication and repair.
• Ability to analyze equipment malfunction and plan repairs.
• Ability to work both on site as well as in shop.
• Ability to work both with management and or customer direction.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized workshop.
• Maintenance of shop equipment and tools.
• Shop supplies inventory control.

• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail.
• Well organized with an ability to prioritize.
• Show initiative in bringing new ideas and suggestions to service systems and processes.
