Job Description
North Shore Community Resources (NSCR) acknowledges and honours that its work takes place the unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Sḵwxwú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Founded in 1976, NSCR is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the North Shore by enhancing individual and community wellbeing, fostering social connections, and supporting active community participation. NSCR delivers integrated, community‑driven programs that address priority needs across the North Shore. For children and families, NSCR provides early childhood resources and supports that strengthen relationships and promote healthy development. Seniors and caregivers benefit from information and referral services, social connection programs, and supports designed to maintain independence and wellbeing.
About the RoleReporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the organization’s strategic, service, and funding objectives. The Executive Director stewards the organization’s people, financial, and organizational resources; fostering a strong, values‑driven organizational culture; and works collaboratively with the Board to support effective governance and fund development. As the organization’s primary ambassador, the Executive Director actively builds and sustains relationships across the community, government, volunteers, and the sector to strengthen capacity, increase access to resources, and ensure the organization remains a trusted, collaborative partner addressing evolving community needs.
This is an incredible opportunity for a community‑centred leader, vision-driven leader who is committed to social well-being and accessible programs and services. The successful candidate will be a progressive advocate with strong strategic and administrative abilities across team leadership, finance, community relations, and governance. The preferred candidate will have non-profit experience with excellent interpersonal required to design and deliver collaborative opportunities across the North Shore. The preferred candidate will bring a post-secondary degree with at least five (5) years of senior management experience including within in a non-profit, community or social service setting. A combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.
Additional assets include knowledge of North Shore communities and regional social and health systems, lived experience or deep professional experience working with communities served by NSCR, and proficiency in languages beyond English.
The salary for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 supplemented by a competitive total compensation package. This is a full-time, onsite position, with some flexibility for work for home requirements.
