Summary: The Events Manager will serve as the primary point of contact and public representative for the Innovation Centre, managing all events, tours, and community activities hosted at the building. This role supports the management team, ensuring smooth coordination and execution of events while fostering strong community engagement. The ideal candidate is highly resourceful, able to work independently, and possesses exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

This full-time position requires 40 hours per week, with flexible scheduling beyond the traditional 9-to-5 workday. The Events Manager is expected to work all events, some of which fall outside of normal business hours. This is a 12-month contract temporary maternity leave coverage position.
Compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $65,000, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Event Management
- • Respond to event booking inquiries via email and phone, coordinating logistics with clients, building management, cleaning staff, and security personnel • Prepare and manage event quotes, contracts, and invoices, tracking all details for accuracy • Maintain the events calendar • Conduct event space demos for current and prospective clients. • Become proficient in the Innovation Theatre's audio-visual (AV) system • Serve as a liaison for vendors, maintenance staff and security on event-related matters • Ensure all events comply with the Innovation Centre's policies and standards • Provide troubleshooting support for theatre and atrium technology as needed • Follow up with clients post-event to gather feedback and assess satisfaction • Manage invoicing and accounts receivable for event-related revenue • Evaluate policies, research industry trends, and document best practices • Ensure upkeep of event inventory (tablecloths, adapters, clickers, etc.) • Assist with marketing and the creation of promotional materials for the Innovation Centre • Conduct annual rates review with management
Community Engagement
- • Plan and host community events for building tenants and the local community • Develop and schedule social media content across all platforms • Coordinate website updates and request content changes as necessary • Create and distribute a quarterly newsletter
Reception/Facilities Management
- • Act as the primary contact for building guests, providing excellent customer service • Build and maintain strong relationships with management, tenants, service providers, and community partners • Oversee daily operational checklists to ensure the building is running smoothly • Maintain and update building content for the video wall, lobby TV, and staircase projector, troubleshooting issues as needed • Brainstorm and implement seasonal displays and exhibits to enhance the building's ambiance:
- • Connect with local artists to schedule quarterly art exhibitions for the building • Coordinate with the resident artist to create new chalk wall designs quarterly

- • Strong ability to work independently and solve problems creatively • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities • Proficiency in event coordination, AV technology, and marketing tools is a plus
