About the Opportunity

Currently, Stone Pacific has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and detail-orientated Estimator/Project Manager to join our team in Duncan, BC.

As our new Estimator/Project Manager you will report to the President and be responsible for preparing estimates and managing civil construction jobs. The projects you'll be working on will span public and private work in the civil construction field including but not limited to underground utility work, mass grading and earthwork, clearing and grubbing, concrete flatwork, asphalt paving, and concrete structures. 

More specifically your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, submitting, and delivering construction proposals, tenders, and estimates.
  • Managing project contracts, budgets, quality control, job costing, and value engineering. 
  • Delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Communicating with Superintendents to ensure projects are completed according to the contract. 
  • Managing the issuance of purchase orders, contracts, schedules, change orders, and extra work.
  • Completing project closeout submittals.
  • Representing Stone Pacific Contracting in business with customers, consultants, engineers, stakeholders, sub-contractors, suppliers, and other private or public agencies. 
  • Accurately reviewing Daily Field Reports (DFR) or diaries showing all hours for the crew under the appropriate cost code as well as all materials delivered to site and daily productions. 
  • Accurately reviewing purchase orders with job numbers and cost codes.
  • Accurately reviewing the crew's timecards in order to ensure delivery slips are accurate and have the appropriate job number and cost codes. 

In order to qualify for this role, you will need to have at least 10 years of civil construction experience along with 5 years of experience in an estimator/project manager role. You will also need to have a valid BC driver's license. Possessing any of the following is considered an asset:

  • WHMIS Training.
  • P. Eng certification.
  • ASct certification.
  • GSC certification.
  • Occupation First Aid - Level 1 or equivalent.

As our ideal candidate for this role, you'll have excellent attention to detail, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. You'll also be comfortable using computer programs and have previous experience using estimating and project management software such as B2W and Viewpoint Spectrum respectively. Your ability to adapt quickly and efficiently to changes will ensure your success in this role as you work towards competing deadlines. 

Above all you will have exceptional communication skills in both written and verbal form which will combine with your strong leadership, passion, and energy in order to set a positive tone that creates a happy and productive work environment.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary of $90k to $110k+ based on skills and experience.
