Senior Estimator Construction

Job Responsibilities:

  • Estimate Projects and liaison with potential clients to develop future opportunities for estimation

Job Duties:

  • Preparing construction budget by studying specifications of job opportunities; retrieving information from sub-contractors, identifying and projecting costs into phases or areas, in a time sensitive environment
  • Evaluating quotes from sub-contractors; exploring and identifying additional sub-contractors; implementing processes and monitors to ensure that current sub-contractors are approved for future bids
  • Obtaining bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
  • Retrieving new channels for RFQs; meeting performance targets of opportunity pipeline growth, bid-success ratios, and per-job profit margins.
  • Drawing from a list of local lower-mainland clients and contacts for future jobs to estimate
  • Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.
  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Works with Project Managers, Supervisors, and Accountants to accomplish goals.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Understanding of reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully estimating jobs in the local lower-mainland market in the remediation/restoration/new-build segments in the range of $1-20M.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully under time pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a group environment to achieve results
  • Understanding of costing of various aspects of remediation / restoration / new-build with the lower-mainland market of BC
  • Deep and broad understanding of local building codes
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze Information, Develop Budgets, manage vendor relationships, reporting skills, decision making, teamwork, and process and documentation skills.


Must haves:

  • Senior level construction estimation experience of 3+ years; in addition to junior & mid level construction estimation experience of 5+ years
  • Lengthy list of projects successfully estimated upon in the construction field.


Salary and Compensation:

  • Based on Experience
  • Consisting of a salary with yearly performance indexing potential; a bonus structure


Required experience:

  • Senior Level Construction Estimation: 3 years
