An established concrete contractor this company provides a variety of services to contractors in BC including formwork, rebar and the design/build of concrete structures. Their continued success has created an opportunity for an Estimator to join their team in the Lower Mainland.
As an Estimator you will be responsible for preparing accurate, timely proposals for concrete projects which will include both material take-offs and labor. You will be required to review proposal specifications and drawings, prepare budgets and full cost estimates for projects (including labor and equipment cost estimations) as well as analyzing projects in order to recommend allowances for indirect costs, design unknowns and other unpredictable aspects of jobs. You will also play an active role in researching the market, enabling you to determine what type of projects the business should bid on.
You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in similar roles working for either concrete contractors or general contractors. You will be able to accurately read and interpret tender drawings and specifications as well as being capable of swiftly determining the correct tools and equipment required to complete jobs. It is imperative that you have strong organizational skills necessary to prioritize tasks effectively and are able to communicate confidently with customers, suppliers and subcontractors at all levels.
