Reporting to the Team Lead - Environmental Health and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Environmental Health Officer is responsible for carrying out a diverse program of environmental health protection. Using a variety of professional and technical skills, the position reduces the incidence of communicable disease, injury and health hazards; performs technical assessments; provides consultative and education services; ensures that community development does not conflict with a healthy environment; ensures compliance with environment health legislation, policy and standards.Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

•Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent, recognized by the Board of Certification, Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors.
•Must possess* a Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) issued by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors and be registered or eligible to be registered with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors.
•*Candidates who have completed education requirements and have not yet obtained CIPHI certification, but are eligible to obtain CIPHI certification may be considered for conditional employment. Successful applicants will be required to obtain a Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) issued by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors
•Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and possession of a personal vehicle.Skills and Abilities:
