CREST provides emergency radio communications to 50+ emergency response and public service agencies on southern Vancouver Island. This includes fire departments, police departments, ambulance services, BC Transit and public safety organizations. Over 6 million calls per year go through the system, or one call every five seconds.

We currently have a regular full-time opportunity for an Electronics Technologist to work as part of our Engineering and Operations team. You will be involved in the design, implementation and maintenance of CREST radio communications equipment. Duties include design, layout, cost estimating, construction and technical support for system users.
Applicants must possess a certificate in Electronics Engineering from a recognized technical institute and certification as a technologist with the A.S.T.T. of BC, supplemented by experience in communications systems. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Familiarity with computer aided drafting design (CAD) is required along with a valid BC Driver’s Licence.
The successful candidate is also required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of hire.
As a condition of employment at CREST, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by CREST. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is seven  years.
To qualify for this process, a candidate may either be a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizens. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.
** This role requires the ability to provide rotational on-call support (paid).
The wage range for this position is $50.21 to $56.96 per hour (2022 rates) based on a 35-hour work week.
