Electronics Shipper / Receiver: Harvey 2271

We are a electronics manufacturing facility located in South Burnaby, who is currently looking for a shipper/Receiver. This position involves being responsible for all inventory that enters and leaves our manufacturing warehouse. The primary focus of the position is to support production and the Purchaser, in maintaining adequate inventory levels, and support sales, in shipping product in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping:

  • Packing shipments, which includes accurate weight, measure, piece count, apply labels and photograph.  Arrange carriers when ready.

Receiving:

  • Signing for all incoming shipments, inspecting for damage (as well as take all appropriate measures if damaged),

  • Checking all incoming orders against the packing slip for accuracy.

  • Receive all purchases into computer system.

Inventory:

  • Keeping inventory shelves tidy and in order

  • Make sure all stock items are organized properly both on the shelf with the correct BIN number, and in the computer system

  • Arranging for scrap pick up when bins are full

  • Weekly cycle counts to maintain a live inventory

  • Keeping track of centralized inventory on common parts

  • Kit parts for work orders from stock

  • Assisting the Purchaser in maintaining shop consumable items.

Experience:

  • Minimum one year of shipping/receiving experience in manufacturing environment

  • Able to accurately complete commercial invoices and other shipping forms. 

  • Experience with completing Bill of Lading documents, and familiarity with shipping companies also an asset

  • Experience in reading BOM’s and understanding manufacturing process. 

  •  A knowledge of electrical manufacturing considered an asset

  • Good working knowledge of computer software (windows, word, excel)

  • Experience with Quickbooks is an asset 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail is essential

  • Ability to switch tasks quickly and able to handle changing priorities as required

  • Strong communication skills with excellent written and spoken English

  • Excellent customer service skills when dealing with couriers on the phone, and with customers arriving at the warehouse to collect orders

  • Good computer skills; must be able to handle online courier forms and get quotes

  • Able to handle heavy loads by up-loading, un-loading and moving heavy products and materials either by hand or with material handling equipment

  • Fork Life Licence is considered an asset\

This is a fulltime position

Salary of $17.00 to $21.00 per hour depending on experience.

Benefits package after 3 months.
