We are currently accepting applications for a Technologist to provide electronic and electro-mechanical support to our Diagnostics Group. While we are recruiting at the intermediate level, we will accept and consider applications from junior/entry-level candidates to fill as a junior position if there are not suitable intermediate candidates.  You will be involved in maintenance, repair and operation support for existing diagnostic equipment, as well as the design, manufacture, assembly and installation of new devices. Your other duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing hands-on trouble shooting and repair of probes and diagnostics
  • Installing diagnostic equipment in the field and providing the required connections
  • Performing electro-mechanical assemblies and installations, and assembling and installing various diagnostic cables
  • Producing required documentation, records, and reports


You will also be required to successfully complete the TRIUMF in-house radiation safety training course and be designated as a TRIUMF Nuclear Energy Worker.


As our ideal candidate, you have good communication and planning skills and are able to effectively work as a productive team member. You are also dedicated to continuous improvement and seek out way to improve and grow your knowledge and skills. Your other qualifications include:

  • A solid knowledge of electronics, electronics assembly, installation, including various soldering techniques
  • Experience with electronics test instrumentation
  • A working knowledge of electronics design software for schematic capture and PCB layout, such as Altium Designer
  • Technical diploma in an Engineering Technology and at least 3 years of work experience, or the equivalent combination of training and experience
