Role Overview

Reporting to the Lead, Early Talent Acquisition with a dotted line to the Acting Lead, Recruitment, the Early Talent Acquisition Coordinator is integral to Teck's commitment to providing outstanding early career opportunities and experiences for students.

The coordinator supports both internal and external student engagement by organizing a variety of events and activities, while also providing operational and administrative support to the broader Talent Acquisition function. In addition, they will support recruitment operations through reporting, budgeting, compliance auditing, team coordination, and administrative activities that enable the successful delivery of Talent Acquisition programs and services across the organization.

This role requires a passionate individual with a keen interest in talent acquisition and student development, ensuring that both supervisors and students experience a seamless, positive recruitment process.

This role is a 12 month term opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Coordinate the applications for student work-integrated learning subsidies and/or skilled trades apprenticeship grants
  • Support Teck's student-employee engagement and retention strategy involving events/activities and leading student-focused programs
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively with external organizations and internal business partners
  • Plan and lead internal events such as Co-op Orientation Day, Take Our Kids to Work Day, and High School Intern Week
  • Assist with our nationwide Campus Recruitment Program, both virtually and on-campus at local post-secondary institutions
  • Participate in a diverse number of projects that aim to strengthen Teck's talent attraction, recruitment, and retention strategies
  • Actively contribute ideas and input to ensure that Teck's campus programs are innovative, impactful, and relevant
  • Support co-op recruitment activities such as screening resumes, facilitating interviews, etc
  • Support Talent Acquisition reporting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and distribution of recruitment metrics and reviews
  • Monitor recruiter adherence to Teck's TA and hiring guidelines. Conduct regular audits to ensure recruitment documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant
  • Provide administrative support to the team and collaborate on other ad hoc Talent Acquisition projects as required

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Arts, Communications, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 2+ years in talent acquisition, primarily for students and early career talent
  • Prior experience in early career recruitment and outreach
  • Experience supporting early talent strategies for enterprise organizations
  • High attention to detail, and experience preparing reports and maintaining data integrity
  • Strong administrative and project coordination skills
  • Experience in a corporate or mining-related environment is an asset
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to present, engage and influence a diverse audience
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with both internal teams and external partners
  • Proficiency with recruitment tools and systems (e.g., ATS, CRM, MS Office suite)
  • Knowledge of post-secondary education systems across North America
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute events, including handling logistics, vendors, and timelines to ensure successful outcomes
  • Fluency in Spanish is an asset

Pay Range: CAD $68,000 - $84,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
