$71,846 - $115,129 annually. Placement on the faculty salary scale is based on education, professional certification and experience and will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

WHAT IT TAKES
The Early Childhood Education Department in the Faculty of Applied Community Studies is hiring one full-time and two part-time regular probationary faculty members to begin August 18, 2025.
Workload is assigned each year based on available sections. You will instruct students in the Department of Early Childhood Education. The Department offers a two-year in-person/online/hybrid diploma program that prepares students for basic ECE certification as well as certification as a Special Needs Educator. Students may also complete a post-diploma citation in Infant-Toddler Care. Instructors in the department typically teach a range of academic and practicum courses.
You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in the Early Childhood Education Diploma program. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain high quality learner-centred instruction. Additional duties include building and taking part in community committees and initiatives, as well as active participation in department, faculty, and college-wide committees.

To be Successful in this Role you Will Need
• A Masters degree (Doctorate preferred) in Early Childhood Education or in a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach applied knowledge and skills related to ECE to post-secondary students.
• Extensive direct working experience with young children (equivalent to at least 5 years of full-time service - on-call or volunteer positions not included) in childcare settings, preferably in Canada. Some supervisory experience would be an asset.
• Proficiency in using technology for teaching and learning, including experience with online-based platforms.
• Excellent communication & time management skills.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Interest in applied research & publishing an asset.
• Ability to teach across program areas, including practicum supervision and both in-person and online course delivery.
• Eligibility for or possession of a valid provincial Early Childhood Education ( ECE ) license to practice in Canada (or previous licensure at the provincial level).
• Knowledge of Indigenous worldviews, ways of knowing, and experience working with Indigenous communities is considered an asset.
