Reporting to the Sr. Director, Sustainability, Technical Services and Innovation and working closely with Canfor Pulp sales and marketing team and the mill’s customer service and operations teams, this role will be an integral part of providing technical services to the customers and will lead new product development initiatives by:
- Providing technical leadership in support of the group mission "to be the supplier of choice of premium reinforcing pulps"
- Support Canfor’s Premium Reinforcement Pulp (PRP) market position through delivery of the TEMAP program including optimization of PRP for customers (LC refining, paper properties assessment, product development).
- Setting and managing the technical marketing program for the pulp and paper product lines
- Applying your ability to work closely with our internal and external customers to optimize product performance
- Becoming actively involved in the product management of the technical attributes of our pulp and paper products.
You will also represent Canfor in various external collaborative product development initiatives.
Your credentials include an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in an engineering or science discipline relevant to pulp and paper, combined with at least 10 years’ experience in the pulp and paper industry. A strong ability to effectively communicate technical information to technical and non-technical people is important, as is a willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.All interested and qualified applicants are invited to apply on-line by no later than 4:00 pm, Friday, October 14th, 2016.
