We are looking for a Director of Marketing who has extensive automotive experience writing automotive ad copy, designing print and digital campaigns, and driving metrics of response and sales rate. Passion about selling cars, the ability to lead a team, and the mental capacity to oversee business in multiple markets is essential. Absolute Results is a values based organization with a passion to create showroom and customers experiences that lead the industry. About You

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of Marketing experience combined with previous experience in the automotive space. You will succeed in this role if you are a confident, self-motivated,and goal driven leader who leads by example and has a collaborative and cohesive work ethic. 

In this role, you will establish a new benchmark for marketing activities within our company and the industry at large. You will have demonstrated experience achievingmetric driven results and will have extensive experience with digital and social medialead generation, content marketing, and corporate communications. You will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies and plans, and celebrating 'wins' with your team and colleagues. 

About the Opportunity

As Director of Marketing, you will lead our marketing strategy and own the Absolute Results brand. As an exceptional marketing communicator, with a background in channel marketing, you’ll increase brand recognition and market share, and deliver successful digital marketing initiatives aligned with company goals. Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be available to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the business. Additionally, relocation assistance will be available for the right candidate (if necessary)

In this role, you will report to the President and/or designate. You will manage and coordinate all work performed by the marketing team by providing direction, coaching and training as well as overseeing all planning, organizing and monitoring of workflow. 

Strategy & Planning

  • Participate in strategic planning as a member of the management team
  • Oversee the development of metrics, forecasts, analysis, and reports monthly on channel and direct marketing spend and return by opportunity
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate marketing department structure that supports the needs of the business
  • Develop digital marketing strategies, aligned with overarching brand and marketing plans
  • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in the departments systems and resources
  • Develop, track, and control the marketing department’s annual operating and capital budgets
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for department spending and initiatives
  • Assess and make recommendations for the improvement of the marketing department

Operational Management

  • Manage day-to day marketing execution and deliverables – lead gen, SEO/SEM, social and digital campaigns
  • Using marketing automation tools, develop and drive effective programs to achieve the goals aligned to a metric driven business
  • Evolve our brand presence and brand tenants to a broader audience
  • Work with our ecommerce experts to continuously develop new ways to generate leads, develop channel marketing strategy, and generate awareness in the market
  • Create marketing programs that complement sales and education programs including partner selling tools and partner marketing campaigns
  • Oversee the development of marketing content for sales and channel partners
  • Optimize and maximize the social web with cost effective and efficient programs
  • Develop and nurture a strong marketing team utilizing leadership and mentoring skills
  • Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal and external clients, including vendors and partner organizations
  • Keep in tune with advertising trends in the car and graphic design industry as well as generally
  • Participate in recruitment of team members and conduct regular performance discussions
  • Other related duties

Position Requirements (including, but not limited to)

  • University degree, MBA or similar in marketing, business & communications and/or similar qualification
  • Five to eight years’ experience managing and/or directing a marketing team; national and international experience is desired
  • Automobile industry experience is a must.
  • Experience in managing vendors and liaising with partners and clients
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Experience developing or owning a brand identity including establishing a brand strategy and brand guidelines
  • Proven experience in marketing planning, organization, and development
  • Superior understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to marketing
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to relate technology benefits
  • Proven leadership ability with the ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • A high level of energy with a positive attitude
  • Exceptional written communication skills and experience writing B2B copy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience managing various stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • A creative mind with a keen attention to detail
  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
