Salary:  $120,000 - $130,000

Location:  Vancouver

A high-profile office site in Vancouver is looking for a Director of Operations to lead their building operations team. This is a role that will lean on your communication, change-management, and overall leadership abilities.

This company is growing and looking at bringing on several new contracts within the Vancouver market. This role has the opportunity to turn into more of a regional position over time and would certainly be instrumental in bringing any new buildings online in the short term.




This company has built a reputation for quality of service and achieving their goals. They set lofty targets for energy efficiency within this site, it was not a matter of if they would be hit but when. The management team are hand picked as leaders in the industry and have an open-door policy for how to improve their operations. This is a company that will not only listen to your ideas but value them.




Reporting to the GM, your role as Director of Operations will be to oversee the mechanical and electrical systems from a macro level of a class A site. You will oversee a team of over 12, be the point person for any building upgrade recommendations, and be a strategic partner for the outlook of the site.


Some challenges you’ll face in your first year include:


  • Team building – the company is looking at adding some new roles to the operations team and it will be your job to pick some site roles and supervisory roles.
  • Projects – this building has achieved LEED certification but does require further upgrading to renew this. This will include budget forecasting, making recommendations, and looking at new technologies
  • New buildings – As this company takes on more contracts, your role will be to get new buildings into full operation




  • 7-10+ years in building operations
  • Minimum 5+ years at the management level
  • A technical background of some kind is important, whether it be through power engineering or some other type of trade.
  • One of the RPA, FMA, SMT, SMA through BOMI is ideal
  • Previous experience with large-scale, high-profile sites




  • $120,000 - $130,000
