Summary Reporting to the Head of Digital Analytics, the Director, Digital will oversee the software development, architecture and platform operations function of a team of roughly 400 employees, contractors, and vendors. The Director, Digital will bring significant experience in business-to-business (B2B) products and multi-customer organizational leadership (similar to a CTO in a mid-sized, funded startup).
We're looking for a strategic, seasoned and very accomplished executive with a clear track record of success, thought leadership and of building and growing a company. This role will lead all aspects of the continuous development and improvement of our products, as well as bringing new SaaS products to market, and working alongside other groups to support them in meeting the needs of both internal and external customers. Best-in-class digital experience and knowledge, with a deep understanding of Agile and Design Thinking is required in this role.

Qualifications - 10+ years of technology, software and product development experience running medium to large/sophisticated projects with multiple dependencies and collaborators
- 10+ years' experience building and leading high performance software development and architecture teams in a B2B environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Business, Computer Science, MBA or equivalent experience
- Nice to have: Broad understanding of the business of mining
- Experience with full-stack web and mobile software development environments including: Azure cloud-native development, Python and API frameworks, JavaScript/Typescript, Relational and NoSQL databases, microservices and micro frontends, containerization technologies, big data pipeline orchestration, Databricks/Spark, Terraform/IaC
- SaaS experience in the commercialization of software and technology solutions and products (e.g. microservices, GoF, SOA, Event based)
- Experience with infrastructure scaling (e.g. load distribution, SDN, horizontal, vertical)
- Agile Methodology knowledge and/or Scrum training or certification, with experience leading in an Agile delivery environment
- Strong project management skills
- Strong analytical skills to define value of proposed activities and actions
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to lead and empower a large team and key internal and external collaborators
- Experience and demonstrated ability to set and communicate short-, medium-, and long-term strategies
- Clear understanding and consistent record of change management
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead up and down the organization and articulate the benefits of technology to non-technical senior business leaders
- Process focused and results oriented
- Able to think strategically and possess technology intuition
- A passion for continuous improvement
- Great organizational skills, with excellent planning and time management skills
