We are the Customer Service Excellence Strategy & Enablement team. Our team provides shared enablement services across the entire Customer Service Excellence team as well as across the broader TELUS organization.

In this exciting Director, Consumer Capital Management role, you'll be responsible for driving decision making support, governance, and monthly financial performance on nearly $2B of annual capital investment. This means providing our leadership team with insightful analysis to ensure that we can make the right decisions to support our customers, team members, and shareholders. You will work with the team members across the Consumer organization to support investment opportunities ranging from our fibre internet build through new product and service development for our wireless and wireline businesses. This role is instrumental to delivering on our customer and shareholder commitments, fueling the growth of our subscriber base, and driving TELUS profitability.

You are a dynamic, hardworking, and driven leader with a proven track-record of financial and business planning, delivering operational performance and leading large cross-functional teams. You will play a leadership role in the planning and development of capital budgets, the governance of investments, and the driving of efficiency programs.

In a leadership capacity, you will support a high performing team which is accountable for:
    •Proving that TELUS is realizing exceptional value-for-money with its investment dollars through the governance of investment dollars •Specifically, ensuring leadership team visibility and approval of investments, continuous review of in-flight projects, and ongoing post investment reviews •Collaborating with and influencing key partners across all Consumer Wireless and Wireline business units to execute and remove roadblocks on initiatives with high complexity and / or business impact •Developing budgets, rolling forecast and longer term strategic plans •Creating and tracking analytics to set and support company and business targets •Developing and maintaining appropriate internal controls •Supporting the development and use of business cases models and financial modeling in order to report and present to management •Overseeing investment opportunities from ideation, development, launch, and reinvestment •Assisting with special projects and analysis as needed •Responding to change proactively and performing other essential duties as assigned •You will develop a strong vision, set direction and encourage your team to establish an inspiring culture that can rise to any challenge


Qualifications:

    •Outstanding people leadership experience - inspiring and developing a high performing team •Superb analytical/quantitative, collaboration, communication skills and strong executive presence •Recognized for your effective communication skills, you are comfortable presenting to executive management, and leading multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams in a matrix structure •Ownership mentality and demonstrated ability to independently drive portfolio execution, with high attention to detail •Demonstrates thought leadership and manages relationships with senior stakeholders •An inspirational leader, with a track record in inspiring change into the other parts of the business, and partner teams •Effective at leading multi-disciplinary and cross functional teams in a matrix structure

Experience and education
    •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent education and/or experience •Preference for experience in Corporate Finance or Capital Management •Accounting designations (CGA, CMA, CPA) or MBA are an asset •Minimum of 7 to 10 years of leadership experience in a senior management position, including leading geographically dispersed/virtual teams •Track record in delivering on objectives on time, quality and cost frameworks
