As DevOps Manager, Digital Life Platform on our Digital Life and Connected Home team, you will be responsible for developing and supporting market leading digital services. This team is a part of our Future Friendly Home Services DevOps team, which is responsible for the end-to-end technology development and operations of TELUS' Optik TV services, video and over-the-top services, broadband network capabilities, smart home automation and security solutions, and software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solutions.

The impact you will make

You will lead and mentor an end-to-end application development squad responsible for delivering a first class digital life experience to our clients. Your ultimate goal is to create smooth and extraordinary end-to-end user experiences. Guided by your aptitude for DevOps and cloud-native software development, programming logic and algorithm creation, you will help your team understand the crucial role analytics and instrumentation play in supporting a highly-reliable, always-on digital life experience. With a relentless focus on staying ahead of customer experience and industry trends, you will lead on-going improvements to our devices and services to ensure the best customer experience every time, everywhere. Another key priority of this role is to collaborate proactively with peers and leaders in identifying opportunities to improve our customer facing processes and practices.

Here is how
    •Lead, mentor and inspire a diverse team of DevOps professionals, ensuring that a DevOps and cloud-first mindset is at the forefront of all project work
    •Build, maintain and bring to market simple, state-of-the-art connected digital life services in close collaboration with external vendor partners
    •Partner with internal stakeholder teams to ensure proper integration with backend systems and processes for customer analytics to delight our customers with a highly-reliable, always-on service
    •Develop feature roadmaps and achieve alignment across product teams, cross-functional teams, other product areas, and the executive leadership team


You are the missing piece of the puzzle with these skills
    •A progressive career with at least five years of practical experience in delivering best-in-class customer application experiences, complex project strategy and execution
    •Never satisfied with the status quo, always seeking, and acting on feedback to improve device uptime and service visibility through analytics
    •University graduate with a degree in software engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience
    •Minimum five years of experience leading a technical or project team
    •Relevant cross-functional project experience demonstrating an ability to collaborate across stakeholder groups and prioritize requirements for maximum benefit and productivity
    •Good working knowledge of the following:
      •Microservice architecture, docker and container orchestration
      •Software lifecycle tools (Jira, TFS and Confluence)
      •Strong business and financial acumen with advanced analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
      •Adept at technical writing for formal documentation and presentation of technology solutions
      •Powerful communication and presentation skills, including an ability to summarize complex technical topics for an executive audience

    •Capital planning and operational expense forecasting experience
    •Program or project management (PMP) or Agile experience
    •Change management expertise
