The Enterprise GIS Development and Support Team is a high-performing, fast-paced, fun and engaging group that is part of the TELUS Technology Strategy organization. We are responsible for providing Geospatial development and support service to TELUS internal stakeholders (over 2,000 internal customers) through a collection of GIS applications (i.e. spartialNet and myWorld).
We are looking for an experienced Developer Analyst to join our Information Systems Development team in Burnaby. As a Developer Analyst III, you will provide technical leadership, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and application support for the systems and projects related to outside plant inventory and GIS. Responsibilities:
•Analysis, Design, develop, implement and test new applications and other system components
•Responsibilities also include application support, problem solving, infrastructure software installation, configuration, testing, deployment and performance tuning
•Employ the appropriate use of standardized components and support the development of new ones as required
•Ensures that system designs support reliable, scalable, secure, and flexible solutions
•Manage deliverables and implement systems with excellent attention to detail
•Provide support documentation and training for operations
*LI-DS1 Qualifications:Required Knowledge:
•Demonstrated knowledge of application Analysis, design, development, testing and implementation in a dynamic development/project team
•Excellent understanding of the application of information technology to support business processes
•Sound knowledge of software development tools/languages (IDE, Apache, Java, J2EE, Python) and software development life cycle and its process (i.e. Agile, Iterative, WaterFall)
•Sound knowledge of SQL (Oracle and/or PostGres is a plus).
•Desirable Knowledge: Oracle Spatial, spatial data analysis and processing, knowledge of spatial tools such as FME desktop Required Skills & Abilities:
•Takes initiative, self-directed, and able to adapt readily to fast paced change
•Excellent organizational, planning and communication skills
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills - in both technical and non-technical environments is critical
•Demonstrates support for corporate and business unit strategic direction

•Find creative solutions to end-users' problems Required Professional Designation/Certification:
•Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems or Applied Mathematics, GIS or equivalent education and/or experience Required Experience:
•5+ years of experience in the design, development and implementation of information technology solutions in a multi-platform, multi-tiered environment Who is TELUS?
