The national Wireless Transmission Planning Team is responsible for the planning of the last-mile transport to support TELUS' wireless network. In line with the overall company strategy, exploring internal synergies, focus on reliability, and collaborative culture we aim to build these transport connections for our customers. As an engaged team player, you will be part of a national team that is responsible for planning the fastest, most-reliable, and cost-effective last mile transport solution for TELUS' wireless networks. Your broad experience in the telecommunications industry will enable you to provide direction to the various design and build teams in executing your plans. In addition, you will be entrusted to manage the capital to support the critical projects you will be planning.Here's how
•Strategy Qualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle
•Receive both in-year and long term scope of wireless sites to implement from the Radio Access Network (RAN) team and develop a last-mile transport plan and budget forecast
•Release tactical plans to enable downstream teams to seamlessly implement your plans
•Collaborate with project management, fiber access, design and build teams, microwave engineers, logical engineering, and even 3rd party contractors/vendors
•Work with the capacity management team to proactively catch potential back haul congestion and bottlenecks
•Capital and Operational Expenses Budget
•Work with the project management office to make sure budget forecast targets and variance are met
•Explore internal synergies for fiber and microwave builds to attack markets efficiently and reduce costs
•Work with the Chief Technology Office teams to be in sync with future evolution of the wireless network and proactively preparing to enable last-mile transport capabilities
•Broad telecommunications experience with knowledge on fiber/microwave planning and IP networks
•Recognized for your experience with budget forecasting and managing capital projects
•Proficient in MS Office Suite with special emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel
•Known as a strong collaborator and comfortable with leading meetings
•Excellent verbal and written skills
