Inside Plant Engineering team is a high-performing group of individuals who collectively make TELUS one of the leading telecommunications companies in Canada. The team is responsible for all Central Office based designs on the TELUS core network and is the gatekeeper of the TELUS Central Office inventory.

The Design Specialist will work as an integral leadership team member of Inside Plant Engineering. You are passionate about being strategic and contributing to technical decisions for the Inside Plant team. Your creativity and innovative thinking knows no boundaries. You create timely, accurate and cost effective outputs for our partners in the build process, while searching for ways to further enhance and optimize our business with a continuous improvement mindset.

    •Contribute to strategic direction to high performing technical resources completing Inside Plant Engineering tasks •Participate in manpower decisions and lead the allocation of resources within the team to accomplish our goals •Assist in compiling an accurate and authoritative repository of documentation and job aids for Inside Plant Engineering •Deliver on our efforts to establish world class records of the highest degree of detail and accuracy •Collaborate with our key stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes on all TELUS Central Office based projects •Collaborate and mentor team members and provide effective training to the team and our stakeholders as needed •Liaise with internal customers to determine their needs. Negotiate the delivery and methodology for all teams to succeed •Leverage your Dev-Ops skills to help strengthen Dev-Ops practice within CNE and TELUS


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent •2 to 5+ of years of experience as a Network Engineer, preferably in a DevOps environment •Ownership mindset with result driven passion •Creative thinker with a passion for user experience •Relevant industry certifications including CCNP Certification or equivalent •An ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment and adapt to changing priority schedules •Creative thinking and problem solving abilities •Dynamic mentorship and collaboration

    •Previous experience in Inside Plant Engineering and Design •Previous Build Experience •Strong familiarity and previous experience with network and operating systems (SAP, NETCRACKER)
