The Data Developer is responsible for ingesting, transforming, and storing clean and enriched
data from a variety of sources. They ensure that data is ready for use in digital products, data
science, reporting, and analytics. They will design and maintain data warehouses and data
lakes, and structure volumes of data.

This is a contract role.

Responsibilities:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules
and procedures.
• Improve data availability, acting as a liaison between source systems and Data Science,
BI and product teams.
• Able to leverage automated testing, performing code reviews, working with Git and
using CI/CD within an agile environment
• Drive the Evaluation/POC through a defined process and provide timely consultation
and build a strong relationship with the team.
• Implement data models and structure data in formats to support the needs of the
domain.
• Perform aggregation on data across various warehousing models, such as OLAP cubes
and star schemas for representation of data.
• Create proper documentation and unit tests to maintain high data quality standards
• Develop deep understanding of data sources to understand how the users are using the
data.
• Review data quality and definitions and perform data cleansing and data management
tasks.

Qualifications:

• Computer Science degree or equivalent education and experience.
• Professional experience with data ingestion and preparation, including streaming and
batch.
• Experience with analytics engine (Apache Spark)
• 5+ years of experience and proficiency in Python or Scala and relative frameworks.
• Experience in SQL for analytics, database development, and data modelling.
• Strong background with big data platforms (Databricks), streaming analytics (Kafka or
event-hubs)
• Experience working with one or more cloud platforms to implement data-intensive
applications.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working with agile teams.
• Keen collaborator and clear communicator, responsive to service needs and operational
demands.
• Passionate about the impact of emerging technologies and learning new skills and ideas.
• Use concise written and oral communication skills to effectively lead business and
technical presentations, demonstrations, and conversations with both executives and
technical audiences.
