About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a full-time Cybersecurity Manager to join our corporate headquarters in Toronto, ON. This role can follow either a fully remote or a hybrid work model, however, the successful candidate must be legally authorized to work within Canada.

Our Cybersecurity Manager is responsible for measuring and managing IT cybersecurity risks, impacts, threats and controls to a level concurrent with Centerra’s risk appetite, agreed with functional business units. In this role, you will leverage modern risk and actuarial-based approaches around resiliency and defense in depth to balance the cost of mitigations and impacts of threats and incidents. You will define, measure, analyze, improve, and control cybersecurity risks through technical and people-driven activities.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Align actual operating risk with agreed business risk appetite 
  • Assess current state vs target state
  • Build a roadmap to achieve the target state over a multi-year, continuous improvement program
  • Create, change and manage controls 
  • Measure and track control effectiveness over time 
  • Build, measure, manage and report controls for existing and new 3rd party service suppliers
  • Partner with service suppliers for cybersecurity outsourcing services
  • Utilise Identity and Role-based access control for staff and business partners 
  • Manage and respond to cybersecurity incidents 
  • Educate the business through training, policies and communications
  • Operate a perimeter-less network facilitating service access 
  • Vulnerability monitoring and remediation
  • Support and build Centerra's IT strategy 
About You

To qualify, you will need 10+ years of work experience in IT, with at least 3 years of proven experience in a cybersecurity role. Relevant industry certifications, and mining or industrial experience are strong assets.

The following will be critical to successfully perform this role:

  • Membership in industry/community cybersecurity groups and programs
  • Demonstrated background in Risk Management
  • Demonstrated experience in writing policy and controls
  • Communicating and managing a structured framework
  • Extensive use of varied Risk Management tools and frameworks
  • Integrating leading industry security frameworks into an industrial or mining business
  • Cloud Service Security Architecture
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Cloud & Infrastructure platforms including Microsoft AD, Azure AD, SAML
  • PKI and Certificate Infrastructure
  • Delivering policy development and education
  • A structured approach to balancing Access vs Control
  • Clear methods of prioritizing Vulnerability Management
  • A demonstrated analytical and methodical approach
  • Ability and willingness to travel/work at remote mine sites as required
