TELUS Legal Services is responsible for providing legal support to the TELUS group of companies. Our scope of work is extremely broad, including contract and commercial law, commercial litigation, privacy law, intellectual property law, securities law, employment law, pensions, financing, mergers and acquisitions and competition law.

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

TELUS is seeking a dynamic, business-minded commercial lawyer to join our in-house team supporting TELUS Procurement activities across Canada. As a member of the TELUS team, you will be engaged in a variety of legal matters, including negotiating, drafting documents, and interpreting and advising on issues related to a wide variety of non-IT services, construction, field services, supply operations/logistics and fleet operations. You will also provide advice on CASL matters.

Qualifications:

You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •Valued for your minimum 5+ years practice experience following call to bar (5-8 year call preferred) •Recognized for your corporate/commercial practice experience with proven track record of execution and delivery in fast-paced, complex environments •Commended for communicating practical, solution-oriented legal advice effectively in both oral and written form to a diverse range of stakeholders including senior executives •Skilled in effectively managing a high volume of time-sensitive files and priorities and deliver on commitments •Confident with working independently as well as within a team environment •Committed to learn, understand and contribute to the business strategy and objectives of internal clients and work collaboratively to achieve their goals •Confident at engaging and interacting with sophisticated stakeholders, internally and externally •Expert at drafting and negotiation skills •Member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada or British Columbia •With a law degree from a recognized university •Fluency in English is required; fluency in French is an asset

    •Experience with construction, field services, supply operations/logistics or fleet operations related agreements
