Corporate Communications Administrator

Our client is looking for a Corporate Communications Administrator to join their team.  This is an excellent opportunity to work with an encouraging, creative team. Our client is a family-owned company that is involved in heavy civil, structural and marine construction including environmental and navigational dredging. The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for all marketing materials for the purposes of communicating information to internal and external audiences. This position acts as the central point of contact for the organization, possessing superior customer service skills and maintaining the organizations corporate values. You will have varied duties in this role but attention to detail, communication skills and an excellent degree of customer service is key.

Where is it based?

Delta – it is transit accessible, however a car would be ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the executive team
  • Report to, and provide backup coverage for, the Communication & Construction Services Manager
  • Receive incoming calls and inquires
  • Act as initial contact and corporate host for walk-in visitors
  • Coordinate and execute all aspects of corporate meetings and event planning
  • Support the implementation corporate communications plan
  • Research, organize, plan and write all corporate communications content, presentation design and photography
  • Responsible for the communications content, stories and images for the corporate monthly newsletter
  • Research and identify industry specific opportunities
  • Create, update and manage branding graphics and guidelines
  • Maintain company website and update communications content and images
  • Prepare budgets for internal and external company events
  • Create and update corporate communication digital and print materials
  • Create, grow and maintain corporate social media accounts with relevant, interesting and visually appealing content
  • Maintain and update communications material archives, libraries and databases


Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s   Degree   from   a   recognized   university   in   Communication,  or a related field
  • Minimum two years' experience in similar role
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Previous experience with online website management platforms such as WordPress
  • Understanding and demonstrated experience with popular social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Hootsuite and Instagram)
  • Familiar with online invitation programs such as Evite
  • Experience in the hospitality industry, project or event planning in a significant asset
  • Experience working with contracts is an asset
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills with a strong ability to multi-task
  • Excellent sense of creativity with a good eye for design
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance in a team environment
  • Positive, polished and professional appearance and demeanor with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn
