About Highland Valley Copper

Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operationsis Canada's largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.

Located approximately 17 kilometers west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometers southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC have an abundant offering of outdoor experiences.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Support HR, the Coordinator, Support HR plays a key role in supporting Human Resources programs and operations at Highland Valley Copper. This position is responsible for HRIS administration, workforce reporting, data analytics, compliance coordination, and supporting HR processes that align with operational and business objectives. The successful candidate is highly organized, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the internal job posting process in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) language
  • Support position management, employee transfers, changes, and new employee setup within HRIS systems
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and ensure accuracy across Support HR functions
  • Prepare employment verification letters and other employee documentation
  • Coordinate EIT level progression letters, salary adjustments, and updates within regulated professional tracking systems
  • Participate in internal and external audits and support annual SOX documentation reviews
  • Develop and deliver HR reporting, analytics, dashboards, and KPI tracking to support operational decision-making
  • Complete monthly headcount reporting, workforce forecasting, and other Support HR reporting requirements
  • Support compensation cycle and incentive program data validation
  • Maintain and support HR digitization initiatives and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with Teck's policies, procedures, and Code of Ethics
  • Be a courageous safety leader by adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum three years of HR generalist or specialist experience, preferably with exposure to HR analytics and reporting
  • Experience working with HRIS systems and maintaining data accuracy
  • Strong understanding of HR principles and employment legislation
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information professionally
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and reporting tools

Pay Range: CAD $85,000 - $105,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

Working Conditions:
  • Location: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.
  • Access: This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
